About the event
A new peer-led forum to create space for discussion and sharing learning on programmes that address or consider environmental issues. This takes place at 9.30am on the last Friday of every month. Expect to discuss things like tree-planting, composting toilets, regenerative farming, solar energy, construction, off-setting and more.
In January's session we'll hear from Ashish Agrawal on the project 'Paryavaran Mitra'.
Repicking sisters collect recyclable waste from the streets and sell it for sustenance. As these sisters play an integral role in waste management and recycling and provide a silent but essential service to society and the environment, we call them Paryavaran Mitra, or Friends of the Environment. Paryavaran Mitra, which started as an MS project and has grown into an independent sister-organization, aims to give ragpicker sisters dignity and respect while focusing on increased wages, improved quality of life and their holistic development.

Get involved - share your voice!
To help celebrate 10 years since the SIDCN Facebook group was born, we are putting together a video and would love YOU to be a part of it.
How can you help?
Record a short video sharing a highlight, stand-out memory, particular impact, or one thing that SIDCN has meant to you over the last 10 years. Whether you've been around since the start, or have just joined us, we'd love to hear from you.
Tips & guidelines
-
Recording the video on your phone is absolutely fine.
-
Please record in portrait mode.
-
Around 20 seconds long is perfect. 30 seconds max!
-
No need to say your name or organisation in the video as we will add this info afterwards.
-
If you'd rather not be on video, you can submit an audio clip instead.
-
We're looking for authenticity, not perfection! Record it at your desk, in the kitchen, on the bus. As long as your audio is clear, we don't mind.
To celebrate 10 years, 10 video submissions will be picked at random to receive a £10 donation for their charity.
10 for 10 for 10!
The deadline to submit videos is 21st December.
