The Uphill Trust

The Uphill Trust supports grassroots education in rural western Uganda.

Access to education is not a given in Uganda. There are schools, but it is often the case that if you can’t pay you can’t go; and sadly education is not seen as a priority for girls. We are helping the people in one community solve this problem, by supporting them as they continue to develop a well respected primary school with kindergarten for their children.

For more than a decade we have provided funds for school infrastructure and staffing, made sure that that the children receive a daily meal in school and have access to clean water and good sanitation. We support additional projects that enhance their learning experiences and development of essential life skills.

Very importantly, we are also helping the school to develop additional sources of income so that, in time, they will no longer need external support.
